Internationaler Alumnikonvent 2018

This year more than 160 alumni from Germany and Italy as well as Luxemburg, Switzerland and Austria gathered for the 14th annual and also 1st international alumni convention.

The first international CDI alumni convention in Germany – a huge success.

As every year since 2005 we held our annual alumni convention in the amazing Palais Biron in Baden-Baden. As usual, the atmosphere was very good and the unique CDI spirit created a dazzling surrounding for interesting speeches and breakout sessions. But other than in the past years we expanded the audience inviting also alumni from former Italian and French promotions. The official language throughout the day was English and the businesses and perspectives presented were truly European as well as the networking between participants.

Having received nearly 200 registrations within a few weeks, we could only confirm 160 participants limited solely by the size of the location. We even had to setup live video-streaming between rooms and web-based moderation of the Q&A sessions to live up to the new format.

Building upon the work of our predecessors we have taken a few relevant decisions within the past two years. Besides the setup of an international convention as another milestone in the history of our growing alumni organization, we introduced a cloud-based member administration solution transforming our bookkeeping from Excel to a professional solution.

The newly designed alumni website

will include access to an online directory for members of the alumni association that is also part of the new software. Furthermore, we supported the German Leadership Award in its planning and moderation, because we consider it a good multiplicator of our alumni activities enriching our inherent debate around leadership.

Being reelected as chairmen of the CDI alumni board for two more years we will finalize the implementation of the new software and website and take the alumni convention 2019 and 2020 to the next level. After four deserved years as treasurer, Alexander Beer will quit and is succeeded by newly elected Sebastian Torhorst whom we could already win a year ago as supporter and now to join us as board member. Thank you very much for your support and contributions, we are looking forward to additional two great years.
